Staying Dry Inside with Chopin's Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28, No 15 "Raindrop"
The Best Moments
Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28, No. 15

I am Chopin, and here I have gathered the best moments of my Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28, No 15 "Raindrop". You will hear how one stubborn repeated note holds the entire piano piece together, turning from a peaceful companion into a dark, heavy pulse before calm returns. On this site, the other composers and I also help you recognize our music whenever it plays, so feel free to give the Trainer a go .

A Very Polite Leak
I start my Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28, No 15 "Raindrop" with a calm, sunny melody on the piano while a single note taps away underneath like a leaky roof that has had manners lessons. People call it the "Raindrop" because of that steady little tap, though I never gave it that name and always hated the idea that I was just copying the weather report.
Same Key, Worse Mood
In the middle section, I turn the lights out and let the music grow dark and stormy, as if the polite drizzle outside suddenly remembered it had a flair for drama. I keep pressing that exact same piano key over and over, only now it sounds less like a gentle drip and more like a neighbor knocking on the wall to complain about the noise.
Drying Off
Toward the end, I bring back that peaceful opening tune for a brief visit, just enough to dry your coat and pretend the storm in the middle never happened. Finally, I let that stubborn tapping note have a moment of silence before the musictiptoes out of the room and leaves you in peace.

I hope you enjoyed walking through my favorite moments in Prelude in D-flat major, Op. 28, No 15 "Raindrop" with me. These passages are only part of the picture, though, because the story of that damp winter in Majorca and the rest of the twenty-four preludes has plenty more to offer.
