GEORGE FRIDERIC HANDEL

Yo yo yo, what's good, fam, I'm Händel, born in Halle back in 1685, and I'm still the loudest, proudest, wig-wearin' legend on this whole block, no cap, deadass! Pull up, grab a seat, 'cause I'm about to spill my whole life story to ya, every wild twist, every big flop, every crazy comeback, straight from the source, bruh! So are ya curious about the real dude behind all that thunderin' music, or are ya just gonna lurk there like a pigeon eyein' a french fry?

Barber's Kid Sneaks Into Music, Allegedly
Yo yo, hold up, fam, I popped out in Halle on 23 February 1685, and my pops was a barber-surgeon, so picture a dude who trims beards AND slices folks open, bonkers, right?! Meanwhile little me was itchin' to bang on keys all day, which is a totally different hustle, y'all, no cap! The story goes I smuggled a tiny keyboard into the attic to practice in secret, but nobody knows if that's legit, so don't go swearin' on it, bruh! Anyhow, Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow taught me the organ, my one and only teacher, and that dude had me shreddin' like a champ, lowkey legendary!Hamburg, Italy and Boom Goes the Fame
Check it, in 1703 I bounced to Hamburg to play in the opera orchestra, and my first three operas, Almira, Nero and Florindo, hit the stage there, lit, fam, straight fire! Then in 1706 I dipped off to Italy to level up as a composer and player, grindin' nonstop, zero days off, deadass! On 16 June 1710 I snagged the Kapellmeister gig for the Elector of Hanover, which is basically head-of-the-band boss mode, big-shot vibes, ya feel me?! Then my opera Rinaldo landed in London in 1711 and the crowd went absolutely nuts right away, bam, instant clout, I was shook!London, Baby, London!
So in 1712 I decided to plant myself in England for good, and yo, that was a power move, no doubt! In 1717 I whipped up the Water Music for King George I's royal water party, and on 17 July it got blasted over the Thames, a floating concert, how wild is that, bruh?! In 1723 I grabbed a lease on 25 Brook Street in Mayfair and stayed 36 years, so basically I was the neighbor who never moved out, lol, legend status! Then on 20 February 1727 I got British citizenship, 'cause I was a Halle kid, not English by birth, so I finally had the paperwork, boom, we outside! The Hallelujah Moment
Okay, listen up, fam, here comes the big one: Messiah, which I cranked out between 22 August and 14 September 1741, barely three weeks, I was cookin' like a maniac, no joke! Charles Jennens stitched the words together from the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, so I just had to make it bang, easy peasy, bruh! It premiered on 13 April 1742 at the Great Music Hall on Fishamble Street in Dublin, and the Hallelujah chorus is the one that lives on this site, so crank it up, y'all, real talk! People swear King George II jumped to his feet for it, but there's no solid proof he even showed up, so the story goes and nobody knows, wild, right?!Eyes Out, Bachelor In
Now for the bummer, dude: by 1752 I was completely blind after John Taylor's cataract surgery flopped, total disaster, ugh, the worst! Imagine a composer who can't see the notes, that's a pizza chef with no oven, I swear, major yikes! I never married either, so no wife yellin' at me to quit hammerin' the keys at midnight, just me and my music, solo mode, baby! Honestly, a setback that big would flatten most folks flat-out, so trust me, I felt it hard, for real!Mic Drop on Brook Street
So I spent my final stretch at home on Brook Street, same crib for 36 years, comfy as heck, fam! On 14 April 1759 I checked out at 74, right there at home, mic drop, peace out, y'all! A week later they buried me in Westminster Abbey, which is basically the VIP section of the afterlife, no cap, that's bananas! Not bad for a barber's kid from Halle, huh, bruh, I'd say that's a glow-up for the ages!Costumes? Nah, Keep 'Em
Here's my big flex, y'all: I brought in English-language oratorios with zero costumes, zero sets and zero staging, just music, super cheap on the glitter, deadass! Folks loved them right away, immediately popular, like a viral hit before viral was even a thing, dang! It's all the drama of opera without the fancy outfits, so nobody's fightin' over who gets the sparkly cape, ha! And the Hallelujah chorus still blasts out of speakers today, which is straight-up bonkers for something that debuted in 1742, bruh!Your Gift From Me
So here's what I'm handin' ya, fam: a chorus that'll make your hair stand straight up, no lie! Smash play on Hallelujah, turn that volume way up, and let it rattle your ribs like a bass drop from the 1700s, yo! You don't need a fancy degree or a powdered wig, just open ears and a little hype, that's the whole deal, trust me! Now go on, jump up and sing along off-key like nobody's watchin', 'cause that's how you honor a barber's kid, peace and love, y'all!---
Yo yo yo, real talk, fam, did ya vibe with my life story, or did it have ya snoozin' like a sloth on a Monday, huh? Now peep this, bruh: ya can go dive into my works right here on this site, and yeah, Hallelujah's up in there, no cap, deadass bangin'! So smash those links below, ya hear me, and go check out the music, 'cause it's gonna hit ya like a thunderbolt, straight fire, let's gooo!
Hallelujah
